Questions

Switching from Postiz, answered

What is the difference between Pylot and Postiz?

Postiz is an agentic scheduling platform: you, or an AI agent like Claude or ChatGPT that you connect, decide what to post and Postiz publishes it to 30+ networks. Pylot is an AI social media manager: it learns your business from your website, makes a month of posts and video ads, and publishes them once you approve.

Does Pylot have an MCP server like Postiz?

Yes. Pylot has a hosted MCP server and a REST API with an OpenAPI spec, on every plan. Create an API key in Settings and connect Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP client. Posts your agent creates land as drafts.

Can I self-host Pylot?

No. Pylot is hosted only, so there is no server to run and no social network apps to get approved. If you need to self-host, Postiz's open-source version is built for that.

Is Pylot cheaper than Postiz?

No. Postiz plans started at $29 a month on 28 October 2026. Pylot Pro is $49.99 a month and includes the writing, images, video ads and publishing. Pro is 7 days for $0 (card required), then $49.99/month. Cancel within 7 days and you pay nothing. Video ads unlock with your first payment.

When is Postiz the better choice?

If you want open-source software you can self-host, need more than Pylot's 6 channels (Reddit, Discord, Bluesky or Mastodon, for example), or want to build your own agent workflow with a CLI and webhooks, Postiz is built for that.
